Combine and Perish: Satellite Radio

How do you eliminate almost an entire market segment? Pretty simple, as it appears.

All you need to do is merge together the two largest competitors in the field and then have the combined company go bankrupt. Easy!

The bigger they are, the harder they fall I guess.

Talking Head Video

To go along with my previous posts on non-text web media: Why podcasting is a waste of time and Video blogging also being a waste of time I thought I'd cover this topic, which is almost an intersection between the two. Oddly enough... if it's done right it's more useful than both.

Sony CEO sees the light

...too bad it's too late.

Sony's CEO wishes he could go back and push the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray standards together:

Stringer admitted that the competition between Blu Ray and HD DVD had come to a "stalemate," and that if he could, he'd use time-travel to go back and bring both sides together.

Somebody at Google Listens

A while back, I made a remark about the insane steps necessary in order to embed a youtube video into a site.

That's changed now: as the embed code is freely available for videos that haven't disabled embedding.

Having to enter your username and password to an external site in order to embed their videos is insecure, inane, and just stupid.

So, now that I can, I'll be putting up the post I *wanted* to put up: later todaytomorrow.

It reminds me of a bad Capital One Commercial

Sing along with me now: 'Hands in my picket/Hands in my pocket...'.

What was I rambling about? Oh yes: The Mafiaa wants you to pay every time you share or copy media on your local network.

Move that media file? Pay a fee.
Defragment your hard drive? Pay a fee.
Watch that video? Pay a fee.
Watch that video with a friend in the room? Pay another fee.

Where will it end?
